Only our second trip away with Bertie now, we choose this site because it is close to Southwold (about 5 miles) and we would like to go and visit there and surrounding areas like Dunwich on the bikes.  I decided to take the hybrid, maybe there was some ‘off-road’ that I couldn’t manage on the road bikes. Six of the Peddlers go to Peterborough show ground this year for the closed roads event, the UK qualifier for the UCI World final in Italy this year (Varese). Ev went out of the race gates (age group 55-59), hoping to qualify – he’s put a lot of effort in beforehand and he’s booked accommodation already in Varese just like I did for Albi last year.  The rest of us went out of the sportive gate.
