Bertie goes to South Hams, Devon 16-19 July 2018

Our third trip away in Bertie, we also now have the use of a ‘driveaway’ awning we promised ourselves from the last trip.  On Sunday we stop over in Aust again on the way to Devon to see Rich, Nic and the grandchildren – Russ has also made it down from London for the weekend.  It just happens to be the World Cup final weekend (15 July), so we enjoy the unusually hot weather and have a BBQ in the garden.  Also we take a look at Rich’s new bar in one of the stables taking shape – we watch the final in there on a big screen projected on…

Bertie goes to Suffolk (Adnams country!) 11-14 June 2018

Only our second trip away with Bertie now, we choose this site because it is close to Southwold (about 5 miles) and we would like to go and visit there and surrounding areas like Dunwich on the bikes.  I decided to take the hybrid, maybe there was some ‘off-road’ that I couldn’t manage on the road bikes. The Haw Wood Farm site was spotless, huge big showers and friendly staff took care of us. We had booked a distillery tour at Adnams, something inside under cover in case the weather wasn’t too good! UCI Gran Fondo 2018 ToC (Tour of Cambridgeshire) June 3rd

Six of the Peddlers go to Peterborough show ground this year for the closed roads event, the UK qualifier for the UCI World final in Italy this year (Varese). Ev went out of the race gates (age group 55-59), hoping to qualify – he’s put a lot of effort in beforehand and he’s booked accommodation already in Varese just like I did for Albi last year.  The rest of us went out of the sportive gate.
