Mallorca, 9-25 May 2019

A family holiday to celebrate my retirement, we rented a large 5 bedroom villa on the outskirts of Puerto Pollensa. Denise and I, Russ, Rich, Nic, Freddie, Allegra, David and Dixie all flew from the UK to spend a couple of weeks in the sun. Russ entered the Ironman on the 11th so he took his Cervelo P3 (and also rented a road bike), me and David took our own bikes over and Rich rented a bike. We planned to do some cycling, Denise, Dixie and even Freddie rented a bike for a few days to get to the beach and back!
Overall, the weather was mostly sunny but it got quite windy every day so cycling the roads was a bit tough in the afternoons. The villa was a bit disappointing, lots of things broken or missing (or damp!) – the saving grace was that it had a large swimming pool and a sauna which improved mine and David’s chest conditions (we both had an infection).
